Procedure for Household Registration

Procedure for Household Employer Registration

Once successfully registered with the Fund, your employee/s are entitled to the benefits of belonging to the Fund. In brief, what this means is that reasonable medical costs would be covered by the Fund, and qualifying salaries might be refunded to you. Additionally, employee/s or their dependents can claim from the Fund should any permanent disability result from an accident.

If one of your employees becomes injured then, what do you do?

Procedure for Registration as Employer

At the conclusion of the registration process, you will obtain a Letter of Good Standing. This document proves to any department of Labour Inspector that you have registered and paid all amounts due.

The steps in the process are:

  1. Form CF-1E has to be completed and submitted together with supporting documentation to the Fund.
  2. A registration number would be received after the application (1 above) is vetted and approved by the Commissioner.
  3. To submit your Return of Earnings you are required to register on the Department of Labour's ROE Online System.
  4. After the registration of 3 above, you can submit your Return of Earnings.
  5. An Assessment will be issued and after paying this, your letter of Good Standing would be available.

Letter of Good Standing (LOG) Validity

The Letter of Good Standing is normally valid up to the submission date of the next cycle.

Frequency of Submission of Return of Earnings (ROE)

Submitting your Return of Earnings is an annual event. You should note that over the last couple of years, employers had to submit their Return of Earnings during the months of April and May.

Other

It is expected that the salaries and wages paid by most households would result in the minimum assessment being raised. For the year ended February 2020, this was R1,296.00 and this normally increase at a small margin year on year.
