Household Injury on Duty

Household Injury on Duty Accident (IOD)

To be able to lodge a claim, an employer first has to register on the Compensation Fund's Compeasy system. The Website of the Department of Labour provides guidelines on how to affect this registration.

How Do I Report a Claim for a Household Injury on Duty?

After registering on the Compeasy system, you will be able to lodge a claim. Certain documents would have to be uploaded to have the claim accepted and these are:

  1. The Report of the accident (WCL2).
  2. A copy of the ID document of the employee,
  3. And the First Medical Report.

Should You decide to pay the account for the medical service yourself, retain proof of payment. Please note, the Fund will only reimburse your costs if they accept the claim.

Depending on the severity of the accident, you may be required to continue paying the salary or wages of Your injured employee. Kindly note that there is a prescribed procedure for reclaiming these costs.

Permanent Disability

Should Your employee suffer a permanent disability, please note that they may be eligible for either a lump-sum amount, or a monthly pension.

Again, the Department of Labour's Website provides guidelines on the procedure to follow.
